Setting up your PAGO ring in combination with VIMpay is done in three simple phases: preparing the accounts, linking the ring, and the final activation.
Step 1: Preparation & Setting Up VIMpay
Download Apps: Install both the PAGOPACE App and the VIMpay App on your smartphone.
Register Account: Open VIMpay and click on “Register for free”.
IMPORTANT: Enter your full name (first and last name including all middle names) exactly as it appears on your official ID.
Make sure your mobile phone number is correct.
Confirm Identity: Enter the confirmation code received via SMS in the VIMpay app.
Set Security: Set up your app PIN, biometrics (FaceID/TouchID), or security questions.
Complete Account: Tap the exclamation mark on your main card to enter your address and date of birth.
Link & Activate Bank Account: Tap the orange “Top Up” button, add your German checking account as a reference account, and perform the initial top-up. Once this is processed, your account is fully activated.
Alternative: Instead of instant transfer, you can also send money manually by SEPA transfer to the provided VIMpay account details.
Add PAGOPACE Card: In VIMpay, tap the “+” symbol, select Wearables, scroll down, and add the gray PAGOPACE card.
Note Card Details: Tap and hold the newly created gray PAGOPACE card to view the credit card number. Swipe left or right to see the three-digit CVC code and the PIN. Write down these details.
Step 2: Linking with the Smartphone
Open the PAGOPACE App and tap the “+” symbol (or “Add new PAGO” / “Set up Pago”).
Place the ring on your smartphone’s NFC interface and do not move it once the phone vibrates.
NFC on Android: Hold the PAGO at the upper third on the back of your smartphone until it vibrates. Click “Next.”
NFC on iOS (iPhone): Place the PAGO flat on the front upper edge (next to the camera). Click “Start process” and follow the instructions until the progress is complete.
Step 3: Activation & Payment
In the PAGOPACE app, under your ring, select the option “Link payment card”.
Choose VIMpay as the bank and tap “VIMpay account already exists”.
Enter the card details you noted earlier.
IMPORTANT: Use only the details of the gray PAGOPACE card from the VIMpay app. The details of the orange main card will not work here.
Complete the activation by entering the requested SMS code in the app. Your PAGO is now ready to use!
Important Notes for Everyday Use
Payments over €50: For amounts of €50 or more, the terminal at the point of sale will require entering a card PIN.
Check PIN in case of loss: Open the VIMpay app, tap the gray PAGOPACE card, and swipe once to the side to view your PIN for purchases over €50.
