You can link the Ring directly with many German banks or use our partner apps to connect almost any account worldwide.
1. Directly Compatible Banks (Germany)
If you have a VISA or Mastercard (debit or credit) from the following banks, you can add it directly in the PAGOPACE app:
Volksbanken & Raiffeisenbanken (private debit and credit cards from VISA and Mastercard)*
Comdirect (VISA debit & credit)
Consorsbank (VISA & VISA Gold)
BBBank (VISA & Mastercard)
Sparda-Banken (VISA & Mastercard)*
PSD Bank (VISA & Mastercard)
apoBank (VISA & Mastercard)
Aachener Bank (VISA & various Mastercards)
CURVE (the solution for all other banks and PayPal)
VIMpay (the solution for current accounts)
Revolut (VISA only)
Klarna (Klarna Card / Debit Flex & Klarna Credit Card)
*Important note: “Co-badges” of the Girocard (EC card) are currently not supported for direct connection. In this case, please use VIMpay or Revolut.
2. The Solution for All Other Banks & PayPal
Your bank is not listed above? No problem. With these two partners, you can still make your Ring ready for use:
CURVE (Our Recommendation)
Connect almost any VISA or Mastercard as well as your PayPal account with CURVE. CURVE acts as a digital bridge to your PAGO.
Special feature: The new free PayPal Mastercard can also be added here.
Limitations: Please note that DKB cards, N26 cards, and American Express are currently not supported by CURVE.
VIMpay (The Solution for EC Cards, DKB & N26)
A German provider of virtual prepaid credit cards. You simply top up your VIMpay account by bank transfer from your regular current account and link the virtual VIMpay card with your Ring.
Revolut (VISA only)
A digital banking alternative. To create an account, download the Revolut app, verify your identity with an ID document, and create a virtual VISA card in the app.
Important PIN note: When you connect a virtual card (from Revolut), you can usually only pay amounts up to €50 without entering a PIN. Since virtual cards at Revolut do not have a physical PIN, payments above this limit are generally not possible.
Klarna
Klarna offers you maximum flexibility: You can link your Klarna Card directly with the Ring and use it as a Smart Debitcard (with prepaid top-up, e.g. planned or with low balance) or with the “Pay later” feature.
3. What Is Currently Not Supported?
Some cards cannot currently be added directly in the app. In these cases, use is currently only limited or possible via VIMpay / Revolut / Klarna:
Pure Girocards: Cards without Mastercard or VISA logo (classic EC cards) only work via VIMpay, Revolut, Klarna.
Cards from DKB and N26: These are currently not supported for direct connection or via CURVE. Please use VIMpay, Revolut or Klarna instead.
American Express (Amex): Unfortunately, it is currently not supported directly or via CURVE, VIMpay, Revolut or Klarna .
